Childhood cancer changes lives. So does camp. And so can you.
Our family became aware of Campfire Circle during our inpatient stays and day stays for Emma to receive her chemo treatment. Campfire Circle do bedside visits, giving kids some distraction and parents a much-needed moment to themselves. We met Campfire Circle again when at SickKids for Emma's bone marrow transplant and one of the huge highlights of our 2024 summer was going to Rainbow Lake Family Camp. We all got to relax and try as many activities as we wanted. The staff, activities, grounds and amenities were amazing and knowing that we were there with other oncology families was really comforting and awe-inspiring. We know firsthand how much of an impact Campfire Circle makes to families like ours and we want to recognize and show our appreciation for this organization by promoting donations to them during Emma's 1-year re-birthday street party!!
A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant. For kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Simple childhood joys like friendships, birthday parties, or sports teams being left behind in the need for medical appointments, hospital stays, and long absences from school. Whether it’s in a hospital setting, in the community, online or at overnight camp, Campfire Circle fills the void, creating safe spaces for kids to be kids, so families can be families, at no cost to them. It’s where curiosity and confidence, bravery and acceptance come to play, and healing through happiness is on the agenda, every day, and in every way! Kids and families are never alone, because there’s always room for one more in the circle. Your support ensures that Campfire Circle's programs continue to reach 1,500+ kids and their families every year. Your gift will make life-changing experiences possible.
