Childhood cancer changes lives. So does camp. And so can you.

Childhood cancer changes lives. So does camp. And so can you.
A diagnosis of childhood cancer or serious illness changes life in an instant. For kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Simple childhood joys like friendships, birthday parties, or sports teams being left behind in the need for medical appointments, hospital stays, and long absences from school. Whether it’s in a hospital setting, in the community, online or at overnight camp, Campfire Circle fills the void, creating safe spaces for kids to be kids, so families can be families, at no cost to them. It’s where curiosity and confidence, bravery and acceptance come to play, and healing through happiness is on the agenda, every day, and in every way! Kids and families are never alone, because there’s always room for one more in the circle. Your support ensures that Campfire Circle's programs continue to reach 1,500+ kids and their families every year. Your gift will make life-changing experiences possible.

In July, I’ll be running an 80km ultramarathon in Quebec. Why? Excellent question. One I keep asking myself daily.
The truth is, I am not prepared for this. My training plan consists mostly of wishful thinking, occasional guilt-induced runs, and the firm belief that stubbornness is a valid endurance strategy. But if putting my legs (and probably my dignity) through this much suffering can help kids facing childhood cancer and serious illness, then I’m all in.
That’s why I’m raising money for Campfire Circle, an incredible organization that creates safe spaces for kids to just be kids—at camp, in hospitals, online, and in communities—all at no cost to families. Because when life turns upside down with a diagnosis, these kids deserve a chance to experience friendship, adventure, and joy.
My goal is to raise $10 per kilometre—$800 in total—and every dollar goes toward life-changing programs for over 1,500 kids and their families each year. So, if you’d like to support me (and, let’s be honest, place bets on whether or not I make it to the finish line), please donate!
Your generosity will go toward healing through happiness. My questionable life choices will go toward… well, mostly blisters.
Thank you for your support—see you at the finish line (hopefully).
