Give the gift of camp to kids affected by childhood cancer
When Emma was 12 years old she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma. She had to have her leg amputated and undergo many surgeries to remove the metastasis form her lungs and her back. Throughout her cancer treatment she enjed visits from Camp Ooch staff who made her days a little brighter all the time. When she first experienced the overnight camp, she got to be a kid again, and catch up with things she has lost while she was in the hospital. She was given the opportunity to do things that she was dreaming for a long time. Camp Ooch always go above and beyond to create memories that last a lifetime. Emma's memories from camp Ooch will live with us "forever and always".
CAMPFIRE CIRCLE (formerly Camp Ooch & Camp Trillium) brings joy into the lives of kids affected by childhood cancer. Whether Campers are taking part in overnight camp, participating in activities while receiving treatment in hospital, or meeting new friends through special activities in communities across Ontario, they get to experience the healing power of fun, friendship, and self-confidence.
The joy of kids getting to be just kids…that’s the healing power of CAMPFIRE CIRCLE.
