In memory of Ulana Kopystansky and in honour of all kids living with cancer.
A diagnosis of childhood cancer changes life in an instant; this happened to our family when Taissa, Ulana's oldest daughter was diagnosed with non-hodgekins lymphoma in 2000. It suddenly felt like everything was about cancer. Simple childhood joys like friendships, birthday parties, or sports teams were left behind in the need for medical appointments, hospital stays, and long absences from school. Camp programs in the hospital filled those voids for Taissa, creating safe spaces for her to just be a kid living with cancer, which is exactly what Ulana wanted to do with her own cancer diagnosis, just live with it. Before moving to BC, Ulana's youngest daughter Adia also volunteered for many of these programs, and saw the difference they made in the lives of sick kids.
Childhood cancer is a close cause to the family, and any donation to Campfire Circle in support of this cause is much appreciated. In memory of Ulana, and in honour of all of the kids who are currently living with cancer.
