Childhood cancer changes lives. So does camp. And so can you.

Camp Trillium and Campfire Circle has been a part of Zachary and his siblings' lives since the summer of 2009. Zachary loved that he could come to a summer camp where his siblings were also allowed to come with him. Camp Trillium's island on west lake had closed, but Zach was keen to hear of its intended reopening as he loved getting to go to camp there with his siblings.

Zach first attended the Camp Trillium summer day camp with his older brother Ryan untill they were both old enough to come to the overnight summer camps on west lake with his sister Emma and older brothers Connor and Cole. Camp Trillium nurtured Zachary's creativity and allowed him to express his love of art, every year his packing bag was filled with his drawings and creations made in the art shack. At Camp Zach made memories shooting bullseyes at hand made targets with bows and arrows, he got to swing like tarzan 20 feet up on high ropes and raced up the rock climbing walls, he passed the swim test and got his green bracelet to swim and play games in the lake, he got to relax on the docks and spend time with his buddies catching fish, he got to ride the waves and feel the wind on his face as he sailed across west lake, he laughed and sang along at the nighttime campfire skits, and he sang the good night song written by Gregg Lawless at the end of each day around the campfire with his arms around his siblings and his new friends for life. Every year Zach and his brothers and sister would return home having made new friends, endless amounts of stories, jokes, and beautiful once in a lifetime memories that were made over the course of two weeks at camp.

Camp Trillium, now Campfire Circle, has a lifetime impact on the campers who have been dealt a difficult hand in life. You learn that anything is possible, and that nothing can defeat you while you are smiling with people that you love and accept as friends.
