Fifty years ago to-day Ella and Len were married by Rabbi Yaacov Rone in Or Shalom Synagogue. Len was introduced to the new beautiful Hebrew school teacher in town and it was for him love at first sight. He didn’t waste time and called her at 6 am the next day to ask her out and the rest is history. Ella was more practical and fell head over heels for the farm that they would later name “Shalom Acres”. They feel blessed that they are celebrating their “Golden Anniversary”. Stats Canada numbers show that less then 5% of couples get to enjoy 50 years of marriage. It has been an extraordinary long life filled with lots of joy, love, and pain but knowing what they know now they would do it all over again.
