Unfolding Hope: Art for a Purpose

I am an artist with a heartfelt mission, dedicating a portion of my art sales to support Campfire Circle (formerly Camp Ooch).

Art is not just my passion; it's my lifelong refuge. Despite the constraints of my day job, I cherish every moment I can dedicate to my craft. In the simple truth of life, time is precious, much like childhood memories.

While my artistic exploration spans various mediums, my heart beats for the ancient Japanese craft of origami. This intricate art form transforms a single sheet of paper into a representational figure through a series of folds, most often without gluing or cutting. At the heart of my creations lies a spiritual connection to origami, particularly the iconic crane. In Japan, the crane symbolizes peace and good luck. Legend has it that folding 1000 paper cranes grants one wish. Cranes, believed to live for a thousand years, are commonly folded as a gesture of sending well wishes to others.

In my artistic endeavors, words like 'Peace' or 'Hope' often accompany my creations, inspired by the paper crane's symbolic association with peace and good fortune. Creating art has been my sanctuary, a means to conquer stress and negativity. This mirrors the mission of Campfire Circle, empowering children to embrace the joys of childhood amid their battles with cancer. Art has always held profound importance for me, but it gained even greater purpose when I began channeling a portion of its proceeds to Campfire Circle. Now, my artistic journey is driven by a profound mission: to bring joy and hope to children facing the challenges of cancer.

In 2019, I realized some of my biggest dreams, marking a beautiful conclusion to the decade. This inspiring milestone fueled my desire to further use my creativity for good. In gratitude for this blessing, I began this new page into the new decade.

You can join me in supporting Campfire Circle by donating to this page or by purchasing my art on my website https://muiling.com/.

Whether Campers are taking part in overnight camp in Muskoka, participating in activities while receiving treatment in hospital, or meeting new friends through special activities in communities across Ontario, they get to experience the healing power of fun, friendship, and self-confidence.

Every one of us has limited time to pursue our dreams. Your contribution will help me make a meaningful impact in the lives of these children, allowing them to experience the healing power of fun, friendship, and self-confidence, whether through overnight camp in Muskoka, activities during hospital treatments, or special community events across Ontario.

Let's unfold hope together. Thank you for being a part of this journey.
