Campfire Circle is truly an amazing place. It is a place where kids with serious illness can forget about their treatments and just enjoy being at camp. It is a place where kids can spend a week just enjoying camp activities, the comraderie of fellow campers, and the discovery that is camp. And it is a place that permits parents and kids to both get some much deserved "me" time.
This year we will be riding close to 900km From Toronto to Quebec City over five days to raise money to send kids to camp. It will be my fourth ride (I was rider #1 back in 2018) for Campfire Circle (Camp Ooch before) and I am as excited as ever. Together we can make a difference in a camper's life.
Let me also add that I have recently volunteered as a (rather "epereienced") counselor for a week at the camp, along with my daughter Ava, as we had done two years ago, and can confidently say that your contributions are put to incredible use. I witnessed kids (who have all had serious illness) be allowed to participate freely in so many camp activities while still receiving expert care from the camp's volunteer medical staff at the camp's fully equipped medical facilities.

When a child is diagnosed with cancer or serious illness, it impacts the whole family. Kids miss out on simple childhood joys, household incomes are often cut in half as caregivers take on the full-time responsibility of caring for a sick child, and families struggle to make time for special experiences.
When you donate to Campfire Circle you are supporting in-hospital, community and overnight camp programs that create opportunities for children to build friendships and social skills, develop self-confidence and resiliency, and improve their overall well-being. Through play-based experiences, you are helping empower kids to take back their childhood, regardless of their medical diagnosis.
With your support, we can continue to offer our programs at no cost to families and grow our circle of care to provide additional play-based experiences across all four paediatric hospitals, and improve our medically supported and accessible overnight camps so that every eligible child can benefit from our innovative and impactful programs.
