Childhood cancer and serious illness changes lives. So does camp. And so can you.

On August 18, iRun is hosting the Five&Jive with the Ravers Run Crew at Ground Control, 1279 Queen Street West. The event is a fun run, in which we field three 5K runs, or walks, behind a DJ who scratches while he runs and his partner works the microphone.
In between the 5K runs, there is a disco party at Ground Control, and iRun is taking requests.
The idea is for us to celebrate summer and community and the thrill we feel to be together and be alive and run through the streets with music, while we give away prizes and drinks and work our running shoes out on the dance floor. The party starts at 7pm and the first 5K takes off at 7:30. The last 5K will leave from Ground Control at 10:30pm, and if you think surprise and delight awaits you at the finish line, you are correct.
All are welcomed, there’s non-alcoholic beer from Athletic Brewery, and prizes not only for speed and spirit, but also for costumes and dance moves. Please know that each and every one of you are formally invited and we would love to see as many runners as humanly possible at our event (capacity is 200, so please RSVP soon).

A diagnosis of childhood cancer or serious illness changes life in an instant. For kids and families, it can suddenly feel like everything is about cancer. Simple childhood joys like friendships, birthday parties, or sports teams being left behind in the need for medical appointments, hospital stays, and long absences from school. Whether it’s in a hospital setting, in the community, online or at overnight camp, Campfire Circle fills the void, creating safe spaces for kids to be kids, so families can be families, at no cost to them. It’s where curiosity and confidence, bravery and acceptance come to play, and healing through happiness is on the agenda, every day, and in every way! Kids and families are never alone, because there’s always room for one more in the circle. Your support ensures that Campfire Circle's programs continue to reach 6,000+ kids and their families every year. Your gift will make life-changing experiences possible.
