We Ride for Campfire Circle
On September 10th, I'll cycle from Toronto to Belleville, to Ottawa, to Saint-Sauveur, to Trois-Rivieres, to Quebec City totalling 900km in 5 days in support of CAMPFIRE CIRCLE! Campfire Circle is an organization with awesome in-hospital programming and medically assisted camps that support children fighting cancer and life threatening illness.
You may recall that when Matthew was 7, he spent a month in the hospital with meningitis. It was a life and death struggle. Miraculously, he survived, and recovered during an 18 month period post discharge.
My experiences in the hospital opened my eyes to the experience of kids living in hospitals. We saw them every day. Their lives taken over by their illness, their parents struggling to support them, their peers moving on with their lives. It was heart wrenching.
I have met so many families, and heard the stories of scores of others, whose lives were changed deeply by Campfire Circle. I believe in their organization, and am happy to hop on my bike for this cause.
My registration fee of $3000 is my financial commitment, and I hope that you will help me raise $5000 to support Campfire Circle. Thank you in advance for your generosity and kindness.
Healing through happiness at Campfire Circle
Help deliver healing through happiness to kids with cancer or serious illness and their families.
When a child is diagnosed with cancer or serious illness, it impacts the whole family. Kids miss out on simple childhood joys, household incomes are often cut in half as caregivers take on the full-time responsibility of caring for a sick child, and families struggle to make time for special experiences.
When you donate to Campfire Circle you are supporting in-hospital, community and overnight camp programs that create opportunities for children to build friendships and social skills, develop self-confidence and resiliency, and improve their overall well-being. Through play-based experiences, you are helping empower kids to take back their childhood, regardless of their medical diagnosis.
With your support, we can continue to offer our programs at no cost to families and grow our circle of care to provide additional play-based experiences across all four paediatric hospitals, and improve our medically supported and accessible overnight camps so that every eligible child can benefit from our innovative and impactful programs.
